SSO FAQs
Each student (TK-12) is assigned a username and password based on their student ID within LAUSD. This account gives students access to logging in to a Chromebook, CLEVER, Schoology, G-Suite, licensed online programs, and vetted online programs used by classroom teachers. TK-2nd grade students in addition to a SSO have what is called a QR Badge, I will discuss this later down below.
Every student's username stays static and follows them while they continue to be enrolled within an LAUSD school. All students are expected not to share passwords with anyone for security reasons. For the most part their username is partly their name along with 4 digits and ends with @mymail.lausd.net. Passwords for security reasons are changed every January. Username and passwords will be passed out at the beginning of the school year. If it is misplaced or forgotten, please reach out to the classroom teacher.
Student accounts are not a personal accounts and all students are expected to follow all RUP and Canyon Policies. Link to Policies. *It is highly suggested that parents log on once every two weeks to monitor student activity.
QR Badges are given to students K-2 grade to login primarily to CLEVER. QR badges use the built in camera to login from the link on my website canyontech.org. Students still need their SSO to log on to a Chromebook and to access their G-Suite account. G-Suite is a program that students use for word processing, presentations and other Google related programs. A QR badge makes the login process just a little more easy.
